About the Artist: Pat McClendon

Porcelain Artist and Teacher, Pat McClendon
Pat, from an early age loved drawing, painting and creating something out of nothing. In 1978, she was introduced to porcelain art through a friend of hers and started taking the China Decorator. She and her family moved to Ruston, Louisiana in 1979, where she started taking lessons from Pegi Wilson, a well respected china painting teacher. She became active in the club there, and this gave her many opportunities to take seminars with great traveling artists. She has been teaching for 3 years now, and loves to share her knowledge with her students.
Pat participates in porcelain painting organizations locally and around the world. She is a member of the World Organization of China Painters (WOCP), and the International Porcelain Artists and Teachers (IPAT).
Pat not only paints on porcelain, but has several glass lamps in her home she has designed and painted.
Pat has written a book called “My Notebook” which is years of notes, formulas and ideas she gleaned from other teachers. It comes in loose leaf form so those who have it can carry it with them and add to it the ideas they receive.
Pat has also developed Fools Gold for porcelain, glass or ceramic artists. She felt there needed to be a lower cost alternative for those who love to apply gold to their art work. She expanded her experimentation leading to two additional products: Fools Copper and Rosey Red.
Pat now lives in Shreveport, Louisiana and is active in her club there. Her favorite thing to paint is birds. She paints them by applying Fools Gold over a subject then shaping it with china paints.
Pat now offers all of her products for sale via the Internet.
